Akrib

Windows, macOS and Linux

Record the meeting.
What matters gets written down, with the source.

Akrib records the conversation and transcribes it on your computer. Then it sorts out what was decided, the deadlines, the tasks and the questions left hanging. Each item shows the part of the conversation it came from and a screenshot of that moment. Use it for work meetings, consultations, support calls, classes or sales calls.

During the meeting

While you talk, Akrib points out what was left loose.

Every minute the AI rereads what was said and flags what slipped by: someone decided something but nobody took it on, a deadline came up without a date, a term that each person understood differently. You keep or dismiss the warning. All of it runs on your computer.

  • MMarks the minute with a note, so you can find it later.
  • PTakes a screenshot right now. The program also takes one on its own when the screen changes or someone says "look here".
  • Ctrl+Shift+RStarts or stops the recording, from any window.

Who it is for

Each kind of meeting looks for different things. 14 come ready, and you can make your own.

The profile tells Akrib what to look for in the conversation. In a consultation it writes down complaints, instructions and follow-up; in a project meeting, decisions, deadlines and tasks. You can switch for each meeting, or reprocess the same recording with another profile.

Legal Writes down obligations, deadlines, what each side argues, documents mentioned and what is left to do. For lawyers, firms and legal departments.

How it works

Three steps

  1. Install and pick the profileThe first-run guide downloads the speech and text models your computer can handle and asks what kind of meetings you have.
  2. Record, or importOne click records your microphone and the computer sound in any call app, or the room with the laptop open. Already recorded elsewhere? Import the audio or video.
  3. Leave with everything organizedSummary, items by type, open questions and the full conversation with who said what and when. Items without a source excerpt are discarded: nothing is made up.

After the meeting

Every item shows where it came from

Every decision, deadline or request shows the part of the conversation and the screenshot of that moment. Just click to listen and check.

Who spoke and when

You are on one channel and the others on the other. Afterwards the program separates the voices of the people on the far side. You name each one.

Player with captions

The audio wave shows who is talking, you can speed it up, and the captions light up word by word. Search for a sentence and jump straight to it.

Screenshots at the right time

The program only takes a picture of the screen when it really changes, and keeps the window name. Before exporting, you review and delete what you do not want.

PDF, Markdown and print

Minutes ready to send to the client or keep in the record. You can export the whole meeting or just the items. Everything sits in a normal folder you can open whenever you want.

You choose the AI

Models that run on your computer, with a traffic light that tells you whether they fit in memory before downloading. If you prefer, use Ollama, LM Studio or your own endpoint. There is a glossary for the names the transcript needs to get right.

And for developers: a decision becomes an ADR in the repository folder, a bug becomes a GitHub issue with the screenshot, the glossary takes class and service names, and there is a local MCP server to ask the meeting from inside Claude Code or Cursor.

Real privacy

What stays on your computer and what goes up

A consultation, a hearing, an interview, a talk with your team: that cannot end up on a server. Here it does not.

Stays on your computer

  • Meeting audio, both channels
  • Transcript and screenshots
  • Topics, summaries and doubts
  • Participant names, titles and file names

After you sign in, the program works offline. It only talks to us to renew your plan, count exports and check for updates.

Goes up with your account

  • Name, email and language
  • Name, version and a hash of your computers
  • Usage counts and your plan status
  • Never the content of a meeting

Frequently asked questions

Does Akrib need the internet?

To sign in, to download the models on first run, to renew your plan in the background and to update. After that it records, transcribes and analyzes offline (up to 7 days without a connection, 14 on a paid card plan, before the paid features pause).

Do my audio and transcript leave my computer?

No. Recording, transcription and the AI analysis run on your computer. The website only receives simple counts (such as opening the app) when you sign in, never the content of a meeting.

Which systems does it run on?

Windows 10 or 11, macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux (a .deb package for Ubuntu, Debian and derivatives, and an AppImage for other distributions).

Does it work with Google Meet, Teams and Zoom?

Yes. It records the computer sound and the microphone, so it works with any call app and also with in-person meetings. No bot and no invitation needed.

Do I need a graphics card?

No, but it helps. It runs on the processor alone; with an NVIDIA card (or a Mac with Apple Silicon) transcription and the AI are much faster. The app shows which model is recommended for your computer.

Which languages does it transcribe?

Portuguese, English and Spanish, or automatic language detection. The app and the website are also in these three languages.

What can I export?

PDF, Markdown, ADR (architecture decision record), SRT and VTT subtitles, CSV, JSON, a note for Obsidian, a synced folder or a webhook for Slack and Teams. You choose what goes into each file.

Do I need an account, and what does it cost?

Yes, you sign in once. You start with 14 days of the paid plan without a card. Then the Free plan keeps recording, transcription and topics with 5 exports a month, or the paid plan (R$ 25 per month, by card or Pix) unlocks everything. Your meetings never leave your computer.

What was said keeps its source

Every decision, deadline and task points back to the part of the conversation and the screenshot it came from. Recording, transcription and analysis run on your computer.
